Mark Fish (b. 1969)

Mark Fish is a professional composer, arranger, violist, and music educator living in the San Francisco Bay Area. His music has been performed in the United States, Europe, South Africa, and South America, in venues including Carnegie Hall. He has a BA in Music from UC Berkeley and an MA in Music from UC Riverside, and has studied composition with Byron Adams, Jorge Liderman, and Andrew Imbrie. He also studied violin with Serban Rusu, viola with Yun-Jie Liu (of San Francisco Symphony), and jazz guitar with Tuck Andress (of Tuck and Patti). His music has been featured in Strings Magazine, and he now has three pieces out on CD: Womanwork (for violin and piano), recorded by the Chiaroscuro Duo, Pictures of Miro, recorded by Tessa Brinckman and the East West Continuo, and The Three Ages of Woman recorded by pianist Aileen Chanco In 2003, he scored the award-winning documentary Talk to Me, directed by Vanessa Kaneshiro.
