The Del Sol Performing Arts Organization (PAO) enhances and expands the Del Sol String Quartet's impact on cultural life in San Francisco and beyond, through public concert performances, educational and community outreach programs, composer retrospectives, commissioning of new works, and recordings. The Del Sol PAO's specific mission is to heighten the public's awareness and understanding of chamber music and increase its accessibility as an art form, with a focus on contemporary music. A copy of the annual report is available upon request.
A board of directors oversees the Del Sol Performing Arts Organization's governance and operations. Del Sol is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization funded by individual donors, governmental entities, and foundations, including the Aaron Copland Fund, Amateur Chamber Music Players, Amphion Foundation, Argosy Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Wallace Alexander Gerbode Foundation, Koret Foundation, Linnaeus Thomson Fund, Zellerbach Family Foundation, San Francisco Arts Commission, San Francisco Grants for the Arts (Hotel Tax Fund), Silicon Valley Community Foundation, and Canada Council for the Arts (Commissioning Program).
