Karuna Supreme

Sarodist Alam Khan and sitarist Arjun Verma join forces with composer Jack Perla and Del Sol Quartet to compose and perform “KARUNA SUPREME,” a new series of ensemble works of North Indian classical music, on the theme of harmonious cultural dialogue, arranged for sarode, sitar, bowed string quartet, and tabla/drumset. “Karuna,” which means “compassionate action” in Sanskrit, indicates the importance of this quality for peaceful creative and cultural exchanges.

The new work will premiere in March 2020 in San Francisco, with outreach events and additional Bay Area performances in the ‘19-’20 season.
